Judi Bangs
I am Judith Bangs. I started working on my family history in the 1980s and I have always joined a Family History Society wherever I have lived to meet likeminded people. I joined East Yorkshire Family History Society in 1988 as my husband is from Hull and following my move to Beverley I have been working for the Society for over 32 years. For the last 27 years I have been the Publications Officer as well as being part of the Monumental Inscriptions team.

Hannah Stamp
Hannah Stamp is an Archivist at the East Riding Archives and Local Studies service, which collects, preserves and makes accessible the documented heritage of the East Riding from the 12th century to the present day. Using the archives' collections, she has been able to research her own East Yorkshire roots. The East Riding Archives are an accredited archive service managed by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. www.eastridingarchives.co.uk

Humphrey Southall
Humphrey Southall is a Professor of Historical Geography at the University of Portsmouth, he is an expert on the History of the North-South divide in Britain, gazetteers and geospatial ontologies and the role of travellers in the development of political life. Dr Paula Aucott is a Senior Research Associate at the University of Portsmouth, her research interests include historical Geographical Information Systems (GIS), historical land use and medieval landscapes. They have been working together on the Great Britain Historical GIS project for over twenty years, and have been invited to present their research findings around the world. The main public interface to their work is the highly successful local history website A Vision of Britain through Time, which they continue to maintain and update.

Else Churchill
Else Churchill is the Genealogist at the Society of Genealogists in London. Formerly a professional genealogical librarian and researcher, Else has worked for the SoG since 1994. She is the Society’s subject lead, working across the organisation and runs the publishing programme. She was the recipient of the IHGS Julian Bickersteth Memorial Medal in 2023 for her exemplary contribution to family history studies.

Martin Wills
Martin has worked within the heritage sector since 2011 and is the current Development Manager at the Historic Towns Trust. Prior to this he has worked as Partnerships Team Leader at Historic England and as a project manager for the Science Museum Group. Before this he has held curatorial roles at the Ripon Museums Trust, Royal Armouries and Craven Museum Gallery, after starting his heritage career in Indonesia working with UNESCO.

Freya Verstraten Veach
Freya holds a PhD in history from Trinity College, Dublin. She has been an assistant researcher for the Victoria County History since 2014, and an archives assistant at the East Riding Archives and Local Studies in Beverley since 2021.
