Take your family history research beyond names, dates and places.
This talk looks at a variety of university-led digital humanities projects and digitised special collections, that have made a huge array of materials available online. Learn how these resources help us to develop a deeper understanding of our ancestors' stories, not only by allowing us easier access to documents in which our family may be recorded, but also adding context by exploring the communities in which they inhabited.
More significantly, some projects have collated the data within the collections to reveal patterns, cross-reference linked records, and produce national statistics to really create a picture of the society in which our ancestors lived.
