About the Speaker

Ann Simcock

Ann Simcock is a retired history and drama teacher. She educated her son at home until he went on to attend Chetham’s School of Music, later studying for a distance-learning BA in Theatre Studies herself. Her longstanding love of history and drama has led her to give talks to a range of organisations, including the WI, U3A, and local history groups. After completing a year-long course in writing personal history led by Janet Few, she became one of the founding members of A Few Forgotten Women, for which she has contributed articles and videos to the website.
