London History at Bishopsgate Institute A tour of Bishopsgate Institute's London Collection is a must for anyone interested in the history of the metropolis. Through a series of librarian's who couldn't help themselves, the Institute has amassed a huge collection of books, maps, and a wealth of other materials on the Capital. This also includes around 500,000 photos and everything you could want (or in some cases imagine) on the social and cultural history of London. Join Stef Dickers, the current Special Collections Manager, to hear about the collection and the stories behind many of the items it holds, including tales of London's celebrity detectives and gangsters, suffragettes, revolutionary minute books and what happened to a rowdy group of builders drinking on a rooftop in 1806.
