Bring your family history to life with this practical 90-minute workshop focused on creating clear, engaging and visually effective family trees and timelines in Microsoft PowerPoint. Designed especially for family historians, this session will explore a range of different layouts, styles and approaches, showing how PowerPoint can be used to build everything from simple family group displays to more polished charts and story-driven timelines.
Through guided demonstrations and real examples, you’ll discover the key design elements behind successful trees and timelines - including structure, spacing, hierarchy, consistency, readability and visual flow - and learn how to apply these core principles across many different formats.
Whether you want to create handouts, presentation slides, book content or shareable family history visuals, this workshop will give you practical ideas, adaptable techniques and the confidence to start designing your own trees and timelines in PowerPoint.
