Walk: Up the Cally

Starts and ends at Calendonian Road Station

Islington’s Caledonian Road is a real slice through London’s working class history. Taking its name from a home from an orphanage for the children of Scottish soldiers, it became home to many workers in the nearby Metropolitan Cattle Market, Kings Cross Station and factories associated with the Regent’s canal. While the Caledonian Road changed a lot after World War Two, some of the Victorian Buildings remain.
