T. Cribb & Sons looks forward to welcoming you
to the National Funeral Museum
Our History Founded in East London in 1881 by Thomas Cribb, T. Cribb & Sons is an independent, family-run funeral directors now managed by the fourth and fifth generations of the Cribb family.
The Museum Within our funeral home is a museum dedicated entirely to the history of undertaking and funerals. We are passionate about helping people to understand the history of death, mourning, and the art of undertaking through the centuries. The museum’s founder, John Harris believes that the key to understanding any society lies in how it treats its' dead, and our unique collection is the perfect place to start. Spanning religion and science, fashion and folklore, you’ll have an insider’s view of funeral history – from Memento Mori and the rise of the undertaker, all the way to the grand pageantry of Britain’s State Funerals and the science of anatomy, embalming and cremation.
