Introduction to DNA

On this specially priced 3-week evening course we have combined 3 talks by Mia Bennett:

Week 1: Demystifying DNA Tests

The talk is designed to help the audience to understand the benefits to family historians from taking a DNA test as well as discussing potential concerns.  It looks at the different types of DNA tests and how to decide which is the best test for you.  At the end of the talk, you will be able to make an informed decision on whether a DNA test is for you.

Week 2: Test Taken, Now What?

This talk is for people who have taken a DNA test and want to know how to discover the key information pertinent to family history research.  You will be shown how to explore the results at the main companies and what they are telling you.

Week 3: Starting to Use Your DNA Results in Family History

This talk allows you to start taking the results and actively incorporating them into your family history research. With hints and tips on how to discover more about your DNA matches and working out how they are related to you, you can start using this source of data in your research.
