Not only did our ancestors move but even when they stayed in one place the administrative boundaries were changing.
Do you know the difference between a historical, ceremonial or registration county?
Do you get confused when ecclesiastical and civil records for the same place are held at different archives?
This talk helps you understand which types of administrative entities controlled different types of records and how they changed over time. Finding aids will be explained to help you find which administrative entity (and their associated archive) you need to be looking at to find the records for your English ancestors.
