Part of Victorian London Week, but now available to book separately
Come to our library, then join Rob Smith (Footprints of London guide) to explore the City Road which when it was completed in the 18th century it was described as one of the finest roads in England. City Road rarely gets such acclaim today, but on this 2 hour walk, Rob Smith will point out City Road’s many historical points. Home to innovative hospitals, fashionable tea rooms, ground breaking industries and 1920s street gangs, the area has had a fascinatingly varied history. All that and featuring in a children’s nursery rhyme too.
