About the Speaker
Phil Bufton
I am a retired Civil Servant and have been Chair of the Powys FHS since 2012. Also webmaster and webshop administrator. I have been doing family history research since 1991, following the death of my father. I was born in Hereford, so that tells you my family did not move far, just across the border. My research has taken me back to 1692 when it appears the Bufton family arrived in the UK possibly from the Netherlands. This has led to the recording of many hundred gravestones either side of the border, I am also a volunteer for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, where I attend 47 war graves each year.
